Comprehensive Gutter Cleaning and maintenance

At This Blocked Gutter Unblocking we were called out to  Haywards Heath to slow draining Gutter drainage. We soon found the Gully had a blockage of roots. We spent a little time working out the the roots and after clearing the drain gully enough that the water was flowing away and not just standing, we spent some time cutting and removing the roots, we then went to the rear of the property of some other issues common to water butt connections and got soaked in the process.

Tearing up a patio to fix drain root madness

This Blocked drain Unblocking we were called out to in Uckfield to slow draining Gutter drainage. We soon found out the under ground rain water pipe had a blockage of roots. We spent a little time working out the drain setup and after clearing the drain gully enough that the water was flowing away and not just standing, we popped the camera in to take a look. With the camera in the pipe we instantly found the issue to be tree roots. we planed with the customer to come back in a few days to lift a patio slab flag stone to gain access to the underground rain water pipe. we removed the stone and cut a hole in the pipe. after spending some time cutting and removing the roots, we repaired the pipe. We repaired the pipe, replaced and re pointed the huge flagstone back in to place.

Epic Drain Unblocking Battling Roots and Sludge

In this one we were called to a blocked drain in Haywards Heath however it wasn't as straight forward as we thought. the confusion came as there was a chamber we didn't know about hidden in the bushes. Once we clocked the additional chamber we found that we couldn't access it but it still made thins easier knowing it was there. we cleared the blockage and found roots, twigs and other foreign material. we spent some time on the roots but found that where some were hanging down from the non accessible chamber, they would not cut. we finally cleaned the system and tested then flushed the gullies through to finish the job. We took a look in the basement as the customer asked but with the customer in the room and not wanting to be filmed we only filmed a very little. the outcome was that the catch pit over flow was broken and none if the drainage was functional. we agreed with the customer to fit a sump with pump in there to manage the water and flooding.

De-silting and restoring Catch pit and stream

In this unusual drainage situation in Haywards Heath, we find ourselves called to de-silt a culvert stream and find a pipeline that was hidden from us under a soil plastered wall. We used the mud sucker to remove as much silt as we could and managed about 2-3 ft of silt. we jetted the pipes lines to clean and clear them and establish a good clear passage for the water to flow through, cutting through the dirt and roots that had taken over. There were many issues along the way but we achieved the customers goal and more. This is out first time with 2 cameras and im very happy with how it turned out. lets hope for many more to come

Drain Scale and Gully Fat

In this one we were called out to a blocked drain Hassocks that sounded simple. we went on the way home from a busy day but what we found was less then simple. We first unblocked a drain solid with paper and other matter but quickly found something was not quite right. the water level in the chamber was sitting at a hi level even tho it was unblocked. after inspecting the system we found the drains to be full of lime scale and gravel. we worked hard to get as much out as we could but time was getting on and at nearly 8PM we finally got the water level low enough for the flow to be acceptable. we need to return to spend more time fully cleaning the pipes however. Once we had cleared half a bag of mess from the main drain to the septic tank we were asked to take a look at the kitchen gully as it was over flowing for quite some time. we uncovered a huge amount of fat, more then half a bag. we pulled the fat out by hand and then cleaned the gully with the lance.

Drain Root removal & Clean up

This Burgess Hill customer had a problem with rainwater. Every time it poured, the drain would spill over and flood the street. I stuck my probe in the drain and, lo and behold, it cleared the blockage right away. You didn’t miss anything exciting. But the fun was just beginning. inside the chamber and the Windsor trap i found a jungle of roots and other gross stuff. I got to work and cleared them all out. With the roots gone, I cleaned the drain line to the house. I had to get it ready for the camera, because the drain line ran next to a huge hedge and I knew there were more roots inside. Matt took the camera and went down the line. We spotted the places where the roots were breaking in and marked them for cutting. I demonstrated to Matt how the root cutter worked on a small root and he was a bit scared by its power. We finished the job and left the customer happy. He wrote us a very nice review. Jamie and his assistant were amazing. They were polite, fast, and thorough. They explained everything they did and why, in a clear and friendly way. They did the job in the time they said and left everything neat and clean. It’s rare to find people who care so much about their work and their customers. I would recommend them to anyone. Thank you very much.

Blocked Septic tank Clean

This Blocked drain in Hassocks was caused by a blocked septic tank overflow to a soak away. when we investigated we were told the property was on the main and first acted as if it was. We quickly discovered there was indeed a septic tank system in place. We first set out to unblock the kitchen sink gully as we were called to do and it was blocked but when the blockage cleared the water kept coming back, this was the first sign something wasn't right. we moved on to the next IC and found the same situation but this one was not blocked. we moved on the the final IC and this one was the inlet to a very old septic treatment system. we found the inlet was blocked and once we moved the blockage the rest of the drain line began to empty. However, this was short lived as the septic tank was full above the outlet to the overflow to the soak away pit. we checked the soak away pit and found someone had installed a filter bar on the outlet, likely to prevent rodents from entering the system and intern the house. we removed the filter bar, cleared it of obstructions and reinstalled it. once the filter bar was cleaned the rest of the drainage system emptied as expected and we were all done.

Toilet Unblock Ended in the Drain

In this one the customer in Horsham complained about a blocked toilet. However, it turned out to be a blockage in the inspection chamber. We thought we would clear it from the main drain but there was no connection in the chamber, we had to clear it from the tiny IC at the side of the house. This was a quick and simple one and after clearing it we tested it and were on our way in no time at all.

Installation of a NRV

In this one in Burgess Hill we are fitting a pest control none return valve in the customers Inspection chamber. The NRV has been supplied by the customer advised by the pest control man. the NRV was designed for PVC pipe and that made it very tight to fit but we got it in with a little kick and it should work just fine. We started by clearing the rat waste from the chamber and sanitizing to limit contact with potential wells disease in rats urine. you will notice some mess still in there after the clean, this was infact cement and rubble that was not removable. we cleaned out the drain line in both directions, did a quick CCTV inspection that looked fine and then fitted the NRV with a bit of a kick. This was not a how to but more of a come join me and also make you aware these exist if you need one. i also felt the need to make a point of mentioning wells disease as a potential risk if you decide to fit one, its a very real threat and you should be aware of it.

Clearing Storm Drain with mud sucker.

In this one in Burgess Hill we were called to clear a storm drain outside Porsche as it was flooding the road outsude while they were cleaning the curb stones. We used the mud sucker to remove the silt from the catch pit and pumped it to a near by hedge. Once clear we filled the pit to make sure it was draining and not just filling before cleaning up. At the end i decided to jump in the back of the van for a little micro tour, hope you enjoy. Thank you for watching and reading my story. I’m over 1K subs, so I really appreciate your support and kind words. I’m still learning, but I hope you enjoy my videos.

In this one in Horsham we were called out to slow draining waste, what we found was way worse then we thought. After punching a hole in the blocked we quickly discovered the scale of fat that had been consuming the drain system for what looked like a very long time. we were told that An air fryer was being emptied and down the kitchen sink and from what we could see i believed it. a lesson to all using these fryers, fat goes in the bin not down the drain. During this visit, we ran out of fuel and i had to pop out to get some, i left Matt behind with the garden hose cleaning the chamber. the entire chamber was coated from top to bottom and the drain line from the kitchen was cleaned out upon my return. it was one of the worst domestic fat clogs i have seen.

I contacted Black Swan Drainage about a leak from my upstairs shower that was causing water to come through the downstairs ceiling. I paid £80 for the diagnosis. The plumber tested around the shower drain and sealant, found water trapped beneath the flooring outside the shower, and suggested that the enclosure sealant could be the cause. However, I felt the investigation wasn’t thorough enough, and I was left without a clear answer about the source of the leak. The problem later required another plumber to investigate and cap off a leaking pipe, leaving my shower unusable. Initially, I was disappointed because I felt the £80 hadn’t helped me identify the underlying issue. However, Black Swan Drainage subsequently contacted me, refunded the £80 and shared some contacts for renovation work. I appreciate that they took my concerns seriously and made an effort to help resolve the situation. Although I was disappointed with the initial diagnosis, I’m pleased with how they handled my feedback afterwards.

Brilliant service. Came out very quickly. Very transparent about cost which was reasonable. We had an issue with a blocked waste pipe which was identified and fixed with no fuss. Very friendly and helpful about fittings we could change to avoid the same happening again. Will definitely use them again if we ever need someone.
